A piece of art: Metallica and San Francisco Orchesta concert

Some people comes their mind the word “art” relation it with painting. In my case I hate most of paintings because is difficult for me understand what the artist want to express in his painting. Personally I understand art connected it with music: that’s the case of Metallica feat San Francisco Orchestra concert.

This event took a part in 21 and 22 on April, 1999 at Berkeley Community Theater in San Francisco. The most interesting thing about Metallica and this particular record is the fact Metallica is a trash metal band and San Francisco Orchestra is totally different because of they play classical music. However mixing that two opposite music styles make simply one of the best concerts that I’ve ever listened in my life. The quality of the sound is amazing and majority of Metallica’s song was modifying for that occasion.

In addition to this Metallica played two days in that opportunity and both concert was totally different between them. As an example on April 21 they played songs like “No leaf clover”, “Hero of the day” or “The memory remains”. In the case of April 22 they played “Nothing else matters”, “One” or “Sad but true”.

Finally I recommend you to listen this two disc, especially if you are a person who enjoy with real music and you consider to yourself like a “music lover”. If you have luck (because is too difficult to find in a music shop this DVD) or enough money to buy it, please do it; you are not going to be sorry.

Here I put a link with my favourite song: "The Memory Remains"

India: you´re the best!!!

Few good news I can find out on the web, but today in the morning I read an interesting and important new: India wants to decrease the world polution level. In that piece of new said India is one of the five countries emitter toxic gas after China or USA.
As you know, Global Warming provokes many problems in our ecosystem and principally factories around the world increase this problem. That´s what I make this paragraph: because a country like India gives the first step to resolve this problem about Global Warming and that´s the necessary attitude we need. Now other countries should be conscious as well as India and follow his great example. CONGRATULATIONS INDIA!

Bad teachers, bad education

Sometimes government says to all of us “we are gonna fix the quality of education”. However that´s only words. The last test shows us teachers are horrible answering a math test and most of them they are teaching in a classroom. The fact is the following: money is more important than education.

Politician can say whatever to obtain a lot of votes in presidential elections. Also they can promise important changes in our life, but in my opinion that is not enough. Every country has three relevant bases: medicine, laws and education. Chile is not the exception.

On the other hand, we´ll be teachers and take a part in the public or private education. It doesn´t matter the kind of school where we will work: the most important thing is how we could be. In my case I´m studying English Pedagogy (maybe it won´t be my work teaching math), but we need to draw the line in this issue: Chilean education is not better at all.

We still have bad marks… we still being individualistic and some of us prefer to work alone instead of work together. As a future teacher we don´t need to be that kind of person: we must be the best example for our future students. If we´re gonna teach something to student and suddenly they ask us a difficult question about a word or pronunciation, and also we can´t remember that word or at least the meaning, please don´t say: “that we are going to see in the next unit”. That is the typical answer from a bad teacher.

To sum up, we must take care about our training like a future teacher. It is our responsibility to improve weak skills and there are a lot of possibilities for our children, for their education.
